Donor Alliance Named Colorado’s Top Health Care Company
Organ procurement organization recognized for community commitment and elevating organ, eye and tissue donation in Colorado
Donor Alliance, the federally-designated, non-profit organ procurement organization and American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) accredited tissue bank serving Colorado and Wyoming has been named Colorado’s top healthcare company as judged by the ColoradoBiz Top Company awards program.
Now in its 25th year, the Top Company Awards program is considered Colorado’s most competitive business awards. Companies are judged on three criteria: financial performance, community involvement and outstanding achievement in areas such as product innovation, operational excellence or marketing effectiveness. Finalists are chosen from evaluations by Deloitte, and a panel of business professionals and policy officials then selects the winners.
Donor Alliance stands apart as a leader in the national organ procurement organization field, and has improved the climate for transplant patients in Colorado and Wyoming. The company has raised donation rates, and each year for the past four the organization’s total donor recoveries have increased. These accomplishments directly translate to more gifts of life being available to patients in need awaiting organ, eye and tissue transplants.
“Our mission is to save lives through organ and tissue donation and transplantation and we are humbled to undertake this important charge every day; it is a great honor to be recognized by ColoradoBiz for our achievements in doing so,” said Sue Dunn, president and CEO of Donor Alliance. “Our success would not happen without the kind and selfless donors and donor families who make our work possible, as well as our network of dedicated partners throughout Colorado healthcare organizations and our passionate staff.”
Donor Alliance has a strong presence in the Colorado community; hosting numerous annual events aimed at increasing awareness for organ, eye and tissue donation as well as increasing donor designation. The organization invests in a team of hospital development personnel, who work to provide education, data and ongoing process improvements to local hospitals that facilitate organ and tissue donation. Donor Alliance also manages large-scale community awareness programs for adults and youth in Colorado.
Winners of the 25th Annual Top Company awards were announced September 12 at the Denver Center of Performing Arts.
