National Blue & Green Day is April 12
National Blue & Green Day 2024 is a time to #ShineALight in support of organ, eye and tissue donation! The observance is recognized nationally every year during National Donate Life Month. Community members are asked to wear blue and green to show their support and raise awareness about the importance of organ and tissue donation. From dressing up your pup, to decorating your sneakers and wearing your best blue and green outfit, get creative and consider participating in the Donate Life America Blue & Green Day Donate Life America Blue & Green Day Photo Contest.
This year, buildings across our region are lighting up for organ, eye and tissue donation. From the Marion H Rochelle Gateway Center on the University of Wyoming’s campus to the DaVita World Headquarters building, by night the region will be awash with blue and green lights.
Blue & Green Lighting Event – April 11
Join us in-person on National Blue & Green Day on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the #ShineALight lighting event at the City and County of Denver Building and McNichols Civic Center. This event will be located on Bannock Street between 14th and Colfax. This is a fun event to raise awareness about the need for organ, eye and tissue donation in Colorado and nation-wide. Donor Alliance staff, advocates and community partners will gather to see the City & County of Denver Building light up in blue and green. Hear from Jennifer Prinz, CEO & President of Donor Alliance, and other special guests. The presentation will begin at 6:45pm so get there early!
