Across Colorado and Wyoming, around 1,300 of our neighbors wait for a lifesaving organ transplant and thousands more are in need of healing tissue transplants. As we #ShineALight on the need throughout the month of April, we celebrate the regional and community support from people like you! Everyday heroes who say Yes to organ, eye and tissue donation and register their donation decision help us illuminate the darkest corner and end the waitlist.

Flag Raising Events
Flag Raisings are the cornerstone of National Donate Life Month. When a donation case occurs, a Donate Flag is often flown for 24 hours to honor the gift of life the individual gave through organ, eye or tissue donation. During the month of April, hospitals and community partners raise a flag as a display of unity, remembrance, hope and support while raising awareness and honoring those touched by donation and transplantation. Proclamations in April for National Donate Life Month
The Proclamation project for National Donate Life Month started again in 2022 with a goal of raising awareness about the importance of registering as an organ, eye, and tissue donor in as many localities throughout the Donor Alliance service area as possible. What is a Proclamation? It is a formal public statement typically issued by a mayor or governor to recognize the importance of a community for an event or major national observance. Some proclamations are often read during regular meetings or sessions. Please join Donor Alliance and the Donate Life State teams to a proclamation in your area.
Remember the best way to raise awareness for organ, eye and tissue donation for National Donate Life Month is to register your decision to save lives! Check the box ‘Yes’ in Colorado or Wyoming and then share your donation decision with your loved ones.
