Thousands Celebrate the Gift of Life: 22nd Annual Donor Dash Event
Nearly 3,000 people from all across the country came together to honor the lives of organ and tissue donors, celebrate the lives of organ and tissue recipients and recognize those who continue to wait for a lifesaving transplant for the 22nd Annual Donor Dash event.
While the 5K Run for Life portion of the event remained virtual this year, there was a new, interactive in-person packet pick-up event that brought everyone safely together to kick off the Donor Dash weekend. Let’s take a look back at this year’s event!
NEW This Year – In-Person Packet Pick-Up Event, July 17
Our Donor Dash weekend kicked off on Saturday, July 17 at our brand new in-person packet pick-up event in Denver’s Washington Park. Teams and their captains gathered to pick-up packets and celebrate the gift of life. All who attended had the chance to visit with our vendors, take a walk and honor their loved one in our Memorial Garden, and leave an inspiring message on our Wall of Honor. From teams to families to even furry friends, we had hundreds of people gather to honor, celebrate and recognize those touched by organ, eye and tissue donation.
It was great getting to see everyone and kick off Donor Dash weekend at our new event.
22nd Annual Donor Dash 5K Virtual Run Event, July 18
Following the new in-person packet pick-up event, participants walked, jogged or ran the virtual 5K on Sunday, July 18. While we weren’t all able to gather in Denver’s Washington Park this year, we still had 2,714 people register and 132 teams participate from wherever they were. This year, folks from across the country were able to participate in their own state! We had participants stretch from the East to the West coast, honoring their loved ones touched by donation and transplantation.

Team Spotlight: Who Are You Dashing For?
Did you know that nearly 80% of participants are part of a Donor Dash team? Teams are a very important part of the event year after year. This year, we were honored to have several Donor Dash team captains share who they were dashing for in the virtual program.
